New Products and Features

Over the past few months, we have been busy updating our range of engagement rings and lab-grown diamonds, introducing both new products and features. Whilst we plan to unveil more changes soon, below is a brief summary of the changes made so far.

Introducing Our Basics Range of Engagement Rings

Our Basics Range of engagement rings has been launched in response to growing customer demand for simple but fine engagement rings. Priced less than our Jogia Collection of engagement rings due to their design, features and lighter weight, these rings are a perfect pairing with our lab grown diamonds and are available in 18kt yellow gold and platinum.

3D Interactive Renders

At the moment, our Jogia Collection of engagement rings feature designs, photos and 360-degree animations dating back to 2008. Some of the photos featuring the infamous “red fire” background are horribly outdated. Whilst I have always been hesitant to use renders of jewellery on our website, it seems it is now the industry norm, bar the likes of Tiffany and Cartier, to use renderings, and not photos of actual products to sell jewellery online.

A couple of years ago, a product called Maverick Excelsior was released, which essentially allows us to create interactive jewellery renders and upload them to our website. This allows for a true 360-degree view of each ring, including the bottom and inside, and in different metals. Whilst not every ring currently has an interactive render, we are currently working on replacing every ring in our Jogia Collection with an interactive render, which should be completed by February 2025.

Coloured Lab Grown Diamonds

One of the most requested items lately has been coloured lab grown diamonds. Available in various colours, we currently have pink, blue, yellow and green available on our website, in both intense and vivid colours. Other colours and intensities are available on request.

Changes to Our Lab Grown Cut Grade

Previously, we assigned the cut grade of our lab grown diamonds based on the IGI certificate cut grade. However, this was problematic as like GIA’s cut grading system, IGI’s cut grading system is just as broad, leading to poorly cut stones being assigned an “Ideal” cut grade. Our new cut grading system for lab-grown diamonds assigns only the best of the best cut round brilliant lab grown diamonds an Ideal cut grade, based on the table width, crown angle and pavilion angle – with the rest being assigned an excellent, or below cut grade – no matter what the IGI certificate says.  Our lab grown cut grading system is a lot stricter than our natural diamond cut grading system, due to the prices of lab grown diamonds – and currently only about 10% of round brilliants meet our Ideal cut grade.
