Over the past few months, we have been busy updating our range of engagement rings and lab-grown diamonds, introducing both new products and features. Whilst we plan to unveil more changes soon, below is a brief summary of the changes made so far.
Lab grown diamonds have become all the rage nowadays, garnering significant attention from both mainstream media and social media. However, their rise hasn’t been without moments that may be described as unusual, but at times, bordering on crazy.
An article last Friday in Fairfax papers tells the story of post pandemic Melbourne and Perth. Essentially, it states that whilst Perth has nation leading office occupancy in its CBD, the retail vacancy in the CBD is 26.1 per cent – the highest CBD vacancy rate in the country. Meanwhile, in Melbourne, the opposite is true, with a retail vacancy rate of 9.2 per cent, but a very high office occupancy rate.
In 2013, I wrote about the differences between white gold and platinum. Back then, 18kt white gold was still cheaper than platinum, however, for the past four years, platinum prices have been steadily falling and have come down to record lows compared with gold.
Something that we do on a daily basis is provide quotes on manufacturing engagement rings, wedding rings and other jewellery. Sometimes, especially with very labourious jobs, customers are surprised at the high cost, whereas with simple jobs, the are surprised at the low cost.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working on building a new jewellery workshop. This past week, we finally finished it, so I guess it’s time for photos.
Due to the recent increase in the value of the Australian dollar and diamond prices going down in US dollars, we have lowered the price of a few diamonds.

For about six months now, we’ve mostly been selling hearts and arrows round diamonds, as opposed to non-H&A round diamonds. Now that we’ve made our Crossfire round diamonds H&A only, we thought it time to introduce hearts images to complement our Ideal-Scope arrows pictures.

Last week, we sold a $23,000 pair of earrings. They were nice, 1.21ct each, one was hearts and arrows and the other ideal cut.
